The Haryana government has asked the concessionaire, International Amusement Limited (IAL), to submit the design by September end.
The 140-metre-high tower — also called Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) — is coming up at Sector 29, near the Huda City Centre Metro station in Gurgaon.
The IAL had earlier sent a proposal to the head office in Chandigarh.
“The government has finally given its nod to the proposal. We have shortlisted architects and will shortly invite them for consultations,” said NK Surana, managing director (MD), IAL, adding that the construction would commence in October.
The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has allotted 25 acres of land in Sector 29 and 33 acres land for its second unit planned at Sector 52A for a period of 33 years on a build-operate- transfer (BOT) basis.
The FEC is a major component of the amusement park being built on the lines of Delhi’s Appu Ghar. It will also include features such as ferris wheel, thrilling rides, carting, stunt shows etc that are already underway.
Each floor of the tower will have an independent theme such as revolving restaurants, club and health club, pub and bar, various indoor games, shopping malls, retail stores etc.
“The IAL has been asked to prepare the design and submit the same in six months,” said Huda administrator Praveen Kumar.
