Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has recently joined the popular social media site Instagram. The 39-year-old opened his account Tuesday just in time for his visit to the United Nations Climate Summit.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has recently joined the popular social media site Instagram. The 39-year-old opened his account Tuesday just in time for his visit to the United Nations Climate Summit, reports eonline.com.

DiCaprio already posted a wide variety of photos on the site. His first Instagram post was with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

"Today (Tuesday), I have the privilege to speak at the United Nations #Climate2014 Summit where world leaders are expected to announce the bold steps they will take to tackle climate change," he captioned. "Thank you Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon."

All images he has posted ever since Tuesday deal with his commitment to the cause of climate change. His most recent update had him with actor Mark Ruffalo, and was titled, "With @MarkRuffalo & Oren Lyons at the People's #ClimateMarch for 100% renewable energy for the #100percent. #MomentForAction #IndigenousPeoples #latergram."
