Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf could join Franco-British actress Charlotte Gainsbourg on the set of Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac.

Shia LaBeouf, now 26, shows his willingness to gamble by straying away from blockbuster territory to join the divisive Danish director of Dancer in the Dark, Antichrist and Melancholia, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Production is expected to in September and the plot will follow the sex life of a woman from her first experiences to middle age.

Also slated to star is Stellan Skarsgard, who, along with Gainsbourg, has worked with Von Trier on previous films. Von Trier plans to release two versions of the same film, with one of them containing uncensored sexually explicit footage.
