A sixty-year-old man was murdered after being repeatedly crushed under the wheels of an SUV by goons in Bihar’s Kaimur district on Saturday, police said.

Prime facie, a three-generation-old land dispute appeared to be the motive, they added.

Ramakant Chaubey of Banauli village was returning home with his wife when four people riding an SUV came at them at a high speed. As they both ran for cover, the wife jumped into the fields nearby while the man came under the wheels.

“He was alive when the goons dragged him to the middle of the road and repeatedly crushed him under the wheels until he was dead,” the woman has told the police.

Chaubey’s body has been sent for postmortem, subdivisional police officer, Bhabua, Ajay Prasad said, adding that an FIR on charges of murder has been registered against Rajeshwar alias Godhan Pandey, Jitendra Pandey, Shiv Shankar Pandey and Satyendra Pandey.
