Akhilesh Yadav’s royal ‘rath’ breaks down, gets trolled on Twitter
An insight into Akhilesh Yadav’s vehicle for his ‘Vikas Rath Yatra’ and its break down on social media.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s royal ‘rath’ is probably the most talked about vehicle in politics today.

The modern-day chariot is a bright red Mercedes Benz bus, with its exteriors displaying Samajwadi Party’s flagship schemes and Akhilesh on a bicycle, the party’s election symbol.
But when the ‘Vikas Rath’, broke down within a kilometre from its take-off point, on its way to Unnao, social media could not stop joking about the false start.
The yatra began on a good note, with supporters rallying and cheering around the decorated bus.

Despite the recent family feud, the Yadavs seemed to have gathered more than enough spectators to kick-start their campaigning on Thursday.
The 10-wheeled luxury bus comprises of a mini-office for press interviews, a small pantry, a plush restroom, and multiple LED screens for a comfortable travel experience.

The roughly 15 feet tall luxury bus was modified with a hydraulic platform that goes up to the bus roof enabling the CM to interact with the public during rallies.
But the trolls came pouring in after the bus broke down soon after the start.
One Twitter user had an observation on Akhilesh’s gift to women as part of the yatra.
However, the technical snag did not stop the rally from moving forward. The chief minister quickly hopped onto his SUV, making sure that though his yatra was delayed, it was still on track.
