‘BJP won't win one Lok Sabha seat from Delhi’: Arvind Kejriwal after Rajya Sabha passes services bill
The Rajya Sabha on Monday passed the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after Rajya Sabha passed the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, saying the saffron party “will not get even one Lok Sabha seat from Delhi”. (CHECK LIVE UPDATES)
“The BJP government at the Center has insulted the vote and rights of the people of Delhi by passing an unconstitutional law in Parliament today that enslaves the people of Delhi,” Kejriwal said in a video address.
Calling the bill a “black law”, Kejriwal said, “Prime Minister (Narendra Modi), it is against democracy, it weakens democracy. If democracy is weak then our India is weak. The whole country is understanding how through this bill you are taking away the voting power of the people of Delhi. They are making the people of Delhi slaves and helpless. Rejecting his government.”

“…If I were in your place, I would never have done this. If ever there was a choice between country and power, then a hundred power would be sacrificed for the country. Not just power, for our country, I would even sacrifice myself a hundred times,” he added.
Kejriwal also thanked the opposition block for supporting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the services bill.
The Rajya Sabha on Monday night passed the Delhi services bill, replacing the ordinance on transfers and postings of senior officers in the Delhi government. There were 131 votes in favour against the opposition's 102. The bill gives the Central government control over bureaucrats in the Delhi government.

Earlier while replying to the debate in the Rajya Sabha on the Delhi services bill, union home minister Amit Shah took a dig at the opposition saying Kejriwal will “quit the I.N.D.I.A bloc once the bill is passed”. "AAP was born to oppose the Congress and it will continue to do so,” he said.
