Two people were charred to death in a fire caused by a collision between a container truck and a tanker carrying diesel on the Lucknow-Ayodhya-Gorakhpur Highway, police said on Saturday.

The accident occurred on the national highway near the Ranimau intersection of the district's Patranga area early on Saturday, they said.

Two labourers were killed coming under the debris of a stone mine collapse in Tonk district on Saturday, police said.

The victims were identified as Sheru Khan and Dev Lal. The incident was reportedly caused by rainwater collected outside leaking into the mine.

Cyclone Biparjoy has left a trail of devastation in Gujarat. The storm's devastation is visible all around. Gadhsisa village in Mandvi tehsil of Kutch's Bhuj, is famous for saffron mango and kharek. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat's Kutch district.

The death toll in the Balasore train accident mounted to 291 after a passenger from Bihar succumbed to his injuries at SCB Medical College Hospital here on Saturday, officials said.

The passenger was identified as Sahil Mansur (32) of Roshanpur in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. He was undergoing treatment at the ICU of trauma care, hospital sources said, adding that the patient was also suffering from a kidney-related ailment. He was also under dialysis, they said.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration is expecting a footfall of about 25 lakh people during the world-famous Puri Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath, an official said.

The rath yatra festival will begin on June 20.

Former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday upheld the supremacy of the legislature in law-making and asserted that the judiciary has no role in the process, PTI reported.
