Close shave for Bihar BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav after raft capsizes in river
Ram Kripal Yadav was returning on a raft when it capsized in the Dardha river.
Former Union minister and Patliputra BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav had a narrow escape Wednesday evening when a raft on which he was traveling capsized.

Yadav had gone to meet flood affected people of his constituency at Dhnarua Ranbigha and was crossing the river Dardha on a raft made of tyres and bamboo with five people on board.
The area has been flooded by river Dardha water.
As the makeshift boat was about to reach the bank, it started wobbling under the load and all of them including Yadav fell in the river.
The MP was immediately pulled out of the river by local people.
On Monday, Bihar’s deputy chief minister Sushil Modi and his family were rescued by National and State Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel from his home in Patna after they were stranded amid incessant rains that had flooded large parts of Patna.
The government’s relief operations have left many unhappy and has even triggered friction in the JD(U)-BJP coalition government.
Union minister Giriraj Singh blamed Nitish Kumar-led NDA government and its “callous attitude” for the worst waterlogging in Patna and floods in the state. Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal also accused the administration of negligence in dealing with the situation.
