Delhi: 31-year-old woman shot dead by husband over cooking vegetables in Tigri
A 31-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband in south Delhi’s Tigri after a row over cooking vegetables. Neighbours caught him and called police.
A 31-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband following an argument over cooking vegetables at their home in south Delhi’s Tigri area on Friday evening, police said.

The husband, identified as Kamlesh, allegedly tried to mislead neighbours by claiming his wife Poonam had shot herself, but they caught him and handed him over to police.
The incident took place at around 7pm at the couple’s house in the Tigri area of Sangam Vihar, police officers said.
The couple allegedly had an argument over the preparation of vegetables, following which the fight escalated and he allegedly shot her. Poonam died on the spot, police said.
Residents of the area, who had heard a loud sound from inside the house, knocked on the door. Kamlesh allegedly did not open it for some time. The couple’s three children, who were inside the house, were also heard crying, following which residents continued to ask him to open the door.
A police team reached the spot and took the accused into custody. The woman’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
