Lalu Yadav's daughter's warm welcome for father before kidney transplant. Watch
Lalu Yadav is in Singapore for a kidney transplant.
Veteran leader Lalu Prasad Yadav is in Singapore for a kidney transplant and his daughter has posted a heart-warming note with a video that shows her welcoming her father. Rohini Acharya will be donating her kidney to the former union minister and she had earlier expressed her sentiments amid overwhelming responses, saying it is “just a piece of flesh”.

In the latest video, the RJD leader - sitting on a wheelchair - can be seen arriving at the airport along with his wife Rabri Devi. His daughter can be seen touching his feet as she welcomes him. Along with the clip, she wrote a small poem in Hindi, loosely translated as: “Every moment is a moment of happiness when your father is around. He has taught us to fight every problem, and has helped those less fortunate and exploited to fight for their rights.”
Earlier this month, Rohini Acharya had said it was her “good fortune” to be helping her parents. "My mother and father are like God to me. I can do anything for them," she had written on Twitter amid, what she called, an outpouring of love.
The RJD leader - who has earlier served Bihar as the chief minister - has been under treatment for quite some time now. The 74-year-old - hailed as a socialist leader by his admirers - has been hospitalised several times while serving jail time in corruption cases. He was recently recommended a kidney transplant.
In her emotional note earlier, Acharya had said that her contribution was “nothing more than a piece of flesh”, she said, “I hope everything goes well so that he can represent your voice tomorrow.”
