Madhya Pradesh: Woman commits suicide by touching electric wire atop train
An unidentified woman allegedly committed suicide by touching a high-tension wire after climbing on top of a train engine in Hoshangabad on Monday, police said.
An unidentified woman allegedly committed suicide by touching a high-tension wire after climbing on top of a train engine in Hoshangabad on Monday, police said.
The driver of the goods train spotted the woman coming towards it following which he applied brakes and stopped the locomotive, Government Railway Police in-charge Balvant Singh Kaurav said.
Soon after the train stopped, the woman climbed atop the rail engine and caught the high-voltage wires with her bare hands following which she suffered severe burn injuries and died on the spot, he said.
The woman was yet to be identified, he said.
Police were trying to ascertain why she took the extreme step in such a manner, Kaurav said adding that further investigation was on.
