Prime Minister Narendra Modi is vying for a third term from Varanasi in Lok Sabha 2024 election.
In the 2019 polls, PM Modi won Varanasi with a significant margin, garnering over 6,74,664 votes and a vote share of 63.6 per cent. In 2014, Modi contested from Gujarat's Vadodara alongside Varanasi.
Who is Congress candidate against PM Modi?
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai is Modi's main opponent in Varanasi, making it the third time Rai is contesting against PM Modi in a Lok Sabha election.
Varanasi will go to polls in seventh and final phase of the election on June 1.

• Prime Minister Modi filed his nomination papers on Tuesday after visiting the Kaal Bhairav temple.
• He went to the Dashashwamedh Ghat along the Ganga river to offer prayers.
• A cruise trip to Namo Ghat was also included in the itinerary before the nomination filing.
• After completing the nomination process, Modi met BJP workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre.

• CMs of BJP-ruled states and Union ministers and top BJP office bearers, including BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union minister Rajnath Singh, Union home minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, Assam CM Hemanta Vishwa Sarma, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Chhattisgarh were present at the PM's nomination programme in the collectorate.
