Rahul reached Balson crossing and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. He also visited the Chandra Shekhar Azad park and paid floral tribute to the freedom fighter.

The Congress vice-president then returned to Swaraj Bhawan and formally started the road show.

Since early morning, a large number of Congress workers, leaders and supporters gathered at the Swaraj Bhawan to participate in ‘Kisan Yatra’. The Congress workers shouted slogans and cheered Rahul Gandhi as the road show passed through densely populated Katra locality and headed towards Fire Brigade crossing in Civil Lines.

Rahul was accompanied by senior leaders of his party, including Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tiwari and former Union minister Salman Khursheed.

Rahul spent the night at Sawaj Bhawan after reaching Allahabad from Bhadohi.

Rahul will also hold a ‘khat sabha’ at Tewa village of Kaushambi before heading to Karwi in Chitrakoot for night halt.
