A bizarre biology gyan from Rajasthan High Court judge Mahesh Chand Sharma has got Twitter all cracked up.

“The peahen gives birth after it gets impregnated with the tears of the peacock”, says Rajasthan High Court Judge Mahesh Chand Sharma (HT photo/Sanjeev Verma).
“The peahen gives birth after it gets impregnated with the tears of the peacock”, says Rajasthan High Court Judge Mahesh Chand Sharma (HT photo/Sanjeev Verma).

According to Sharma, the peacock was chosen as the national bird because it is “celibate and pious”. If that was not all, he went on to explain how peacocks mate.

“... He does not indulge in sex with peahen. The peahen gives birth after it gets impregnated with the tears of the peacock. A peacock or a peahen is then born ... Lord Krishna used peacock’s feather for celibacy of the bird,” he said.

He even demanded that the Centre should make cow the national animal because just like the peacock it is “holy”.

Twitter understandably had a field day. Here’s a look at some of the hilarious tweets.
