An army trooper was injured after engaging a suspect near Nagrota Military Station on Saturday. The suspect fled, and a search operation is underway.

An army trooper was injured after engaging a suspect spotted near the perimeter of Nagrota Military Station on Saturday evening, the White Knight Corps said.

The suspect fled after ignoring warnings, prompting a search operation.

“On noticing suspicious movement near the perimeter, alert sentry at #Nagrota Military Station issued a challenge, leading to a brief exchange of fire with the suspect. Sentry sustained a minor injury. Search operations are underway to track the intruder(s),” Indian Army said in a post on X.

The incident coincided with Pakistan’s drone attacks and artillery shelling in multiple areas along the Line of Control and International Border, including Nagrota.

The escalation unfolded just hours after India and Pakistan had agreed to ease tensions.
