Tamil Nadu Class 12 student death: 'She can’t die by suicide,' says sister
The girl, a Class 12 student of a government-aided school, was found dead on Monday on the premises of the institution-run hostel.
The sister of a Class 12 student in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district, who reportedly died by suicide, said on Monday that she won't take the body without knowing what exactly happened to her. Speaking to reporters, Gayathri, the sister of the 17-year-old girl said that she suspected that there were details that were yet to be revealed.
“We won't take her body without knowing what exactly happened to her. She isn't someone who can commit suicide. She spoke to our family last night as well,” Gayathri said, news agency ANI reported. The girl, a Class 12 student of a government-aided school, was found dead on Monday on the premises of the institution-run hostel.

Her body was taken to the Tiruvallur government medical college and hospital for postmortem. Deputy Inspector General of Police, M Sathiya Priya said on Monday it was reported that the girl died by suicide (hanging) and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered. The CB-CID has started an investigation into the case.
Earlier on Monday, family members of the student staged protests near the school premises.
This disturbing news in the Tiruvallur district comes days after another Class 12 student was found dead in the hostel premises of a private school in the Kallakurichi district on July 13. She was laid to rest on Saturday and her body was brought in an ambulance from the Kallakurichi government hospital where it was kept for the last 10 days.
The police said that the girl allegedly died by suicide but her parents suspected foul play. Here too, protests broke out and they took a violent turn on July 17 as demonstrators entered the school, vandalised property and torched.
