The boy had filed a police complaint claiming that the woman threatened to release nude pictures of him if he doesn’t agree to marry her.
As the police refused to lodge an FIR, the boy approached the court which ordered the Kotwali Dehat cops to register the case.
“We have registered a case under Section 7/8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act and Section 386 of the IPC on the direction of the court,” said senior sub-inspector TS Bhati.
An investigation is on to verify the boy’s claims, he added.
According to sources the boy was having an affair with the 23-year-old woman. But after they broke-up, she registered a case of rape and kidnap against the boy.
“Yes, the case was registered against the boy under sections 376 and 366 of the IPC,” said Bhati.
When queried why the boy’s complaint was not taken seriously earlier, Bhati said he was not aware of the details as he was just filling in for station house offier Piyush Dixit who is on leave.
