Congress leaders and workers across the country today staged a ‘satyagraha’, condemning the allegations made against their party's head by the ED.
In a video, shared by news agency ANI, members of Youth Congress were seen getting into a scuffle with the police personnel in the area. They were also seen raising slogans in Malayalam, saying "Sonia Gandhi, the leader, led bravely" and "Narendra Modi is ruthless" in another video.
In the national capital, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several party leaders were detained by Delhi Police at Vijay Chowk during Congress MPs' march to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Sonia Gandhi was quizzed for 2.5 hours by the ED in Delhi this morning. The law enforcement agency had on July 22 issued fresh summons to Congress chief to join the probe in the alleged money laundering case.
She was accompanied to the ED office by her daughter and party's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. According to an ANI report, Sonia Gandhi was asked over two dozen questions "after which she asked to go home for her medication".
She went back for her second round of questioning to the ED office at 3:30pm.
