According to the latest Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, there is some hope of a slight rise in temperatures over the coming days, though chilly mornings are expected to continue.
Delhi on Wednesday recorded a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius, slightly up from the previous day's figures but still not enough to term it as relief from the bone-chilling cold conditions. Dense fog also blanketed parts of Delhi and adjoining areas such as Uttar Pradesh's Noida and Ghaziabad.

The mercury dropped to 3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, coldest that Delhi has recorded in three years, as per IMD.
Some relief expected
IMD has forecast that some relief is expected later this week with the arrival of a “feeble western disturbance”, expected to gradually raise nighttime temperatures from Thursday onward, as HT reported earlier.

Weather forecast for Delhi
Delhi is set to experience cold conditions throughout the week, with chilly mornings and moderately warm afternoons. The week will begin with mainly clear skies, though low temperatures will keep the cold bite sharp. A brief cold wave may follow, bringing slightly warmer days but frosty nights.
For most of the week, moderate fog is expected in the mornings and evenings, reducing visibility and intensifying the cold. Daytime temperatures will hover around 24 degrees Celsius, while nights may drop to near 9 degrees Celsius. Humidity will remain relatively high, making early mornings feel damper.
No major weather warnings are in place, but residents are advised to be cautious during foggy periods, especially while commuting.
Minimum temperature to be at 9 degrees
On January 20, the weather department has predicted the minimum temperature to rise to 9 degrees Celsius, an improvement over the persistent three to four degrees Celsius.
