1,900 cases of power theft detected in Faridabad
In its continuing drive against power theft in Faridabad, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has detected over 1900 cases of theft, reports Prabhu Razdan.
In its continuing drive against power theft in Faridabad, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has detected over 1900 cases of theft.

“In different parts of Faridabad, our teams visited 6860 premises till March 11 and detected 1903 theft cases,” J.B. Mudgil, Superintending Engineer, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Faridabad told Hindustan Times.
He said that out of 884 FIRs lodged in power theft cases, 338 were registered till March 11.
Elaborating, he said that
special teams visited 1386 premises in Ballabgarh, 3824 in NIT area, about 1200 premises in Old Faridabad and 462 in Palwal.
He said that 631 theft cases were detected in Ballabgarh, 478 in Old Faridabad, 417 in NIT, Faridabad and 377
in Palwal.
“In all, defaulting consumers have been charged with a penalty of Rs 335.95 lakh during the ongoing special drive and an amount of Rs 142.09 lakh has been recovered,” the officials said.
“The special teams detected some cases of power theft by way of use of electricity
in category other than that
for which the connection was taken in different parts of Faridabad,” Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) officials said, adding, that the special drive which was launched on December 1, 2009 will continue till March 31.
