Abhishek Yadav, a resident of Jhusi, told his grandfather that he had been kidnapped in a Bolero by some masked men but inspector Jhusi Pankaj Misra read between the lines and dismissed the story as a child’s prank.

The police suspected the child’s version when Abhishek told the police the name of Chatnag where he was first taken even though he was unconscious.

Abhishek’s grandfather is later reported to have accepted the inspector’s apprehension as correct.

Having bee reprimanded at home for not completing his homework, the boy reportedly decided to visit his father in Machlishahar, Jaunpur by walking down the road.

However, some people in Tharwai, suspecting the child’s movement on the road, approached him. On being questioned, Abhishek narrated a tale about his kidnapping. When Abhishek’s grandfather was contacted, he rushed to pick him up. Initially, he too was convinced by his grandson’s story. However, things unfolded when the police questioned the boy. Looking at his tender age, the inspector asked the grandfather to take the child home and try and find out the truth.

The child’s granparents later confirmed the police apprehension as correct.
