2 CRPF jawans killed in blast

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and another three seriously injured in a blast triggered by the Maoists on Thursday in the forested area of Bijapur in south Chhattisgarh.

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and another three seriously injured in a blast triggered by the Maoists on Thursday in the forested area of Bijapur in south Chhattisgarh.

The injured were airlifted to a Jagdalpur hospital for treatment. According to the doctors, the conditions of the injured are critical. More troopers have been rushed to the area and combing operations intensified.

CM blames troops for Silda attack West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee blamed the local Eastern Frontier Rifles camp for not being able to apprehend the Maoist attack in West Midnapore on February 15. Maoists had stormed the Shilda camp, 160 km west of Kolkata, and killed 24 troopers. “If there was any failure, it was at the camp leadership level,” the CM said in the assembly.
