4 chain snatchers nabbed

HABIBGANJ POLICE have arrested four accused in separate cases of chain snatching and loots. Superintendent of Police A K Singh said today three of the culprits had snatched a mobile phone, ATM card and Rs 1,800 cash from Chandni Rimjha, a student of RKDF dental college on February 20 at about 7.45 pm.

HABIBGANJ POLICE have arrested four accused in separate cases of chain snatching and loots. Superintendent of Police A K Singh said today three of the culprits had snatched a mobile phone, ATM card and Rs 1,800 cash from Chandni Rimjha, a student of RKDF dental college on February 20 at about 7.45 pm.

The victim had withdrawn the cash from the SBI ATM at bus stop number ten and half. She was walking to her hostel at Shalimar Enclave with her friend Vinita Verma when the three culprits, on a motorcycle came from behind and snatched the items from her.

During investigations, Habibganj police were tipped off about the culprits and on that basis, Govind Paudal (21) of Depot Square, Suresh Singh (25) of A G colony and Balveer Singh of Rewa were arrested. Police have recovered the stolen mobile phone and SIM card from the culprits.

In another incident, a culprit, Surendra Dwivedi (23) of Sarvadharma area, has been arrested in connection with a loot of Rs 15,000 and a mobile phone.

The victim, Reta Singh was walking on the road near 10 number market at about 6.45 pm on March 5. At that time, the culprit, a third-year student of mechanical engineering in Barkatullah University Bhopal, snatched her cash and mobile phone.

He fled on his motorcycle after the incident while Reeta Singh reported the incident to the Habibganj police. Police have arrested Surendra Dwivedi and recovered the stolen purse, mobile phone, ATM card and motorcycle used in the crime.
