40 feared drowned in MP bus tragedy

A bus carrying them slips into a lake while negotiating a turn in Rewa district on Thursday morning.

At least 40 people were feared drowned in Madhya Pradesh when their bus slipped into a lake while negotiating a turn on Thursday morning.

According to police, the incident in Rewa district took place at 9.30 am when the private bus carrying 45 passengers fell into the Govindgarh lake. Only four people could be pulled out.

Senior police and administrative officials have reached the spot and rescue teams and divers have been pressed into service.
