60-yr-old woman jumps to death in Noida

A 60-year-old woman allegedly jumped to death from her fifth floor apartment in Sector 21 on Wednesday. HT reports.

The deceased has been identified as Suman Srivastava, a resident of Jal Vayu Vihar. According to the police, Suman was depressed and was under medication.

Her domestic help said the incident took place at 10:30am on Wednesday. "She went to her room after breakfast. I was working in the drawing room when we heard a loud cry. We came out only to find that she had jumped from the window," said Shankar, the victim's domestic help.

She was taken to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. According to doctors, she died of severe head injuries. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.

The deceased's husband is a retired National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) official. Her son works with a five-star hotel in Delhi, while her daughter is married and lives in America.

Engineer's suicide
In another such incident, the police are scanning the laptop of a 26-year-old engineer who had allegedly jumped to death from the sixth floor of VSNL Apartment, Sector 62, on Saturday.

The police said Shiv Ratan Yadav from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh worked as an engineer with Maxx Mobile in Gurgaon.

Yadav had come to meet his friend Ashish, who stays at VSNL Apartment. On Saturday night, they were looking for the new job on the internet.
