85 students hospitalised in Tamil Nadu

The children were admitted to a government hospital after some complained of giddiness and vomiting.

As many as 85 students, including 30 girls, of a corporation school in North Chennai were hospitalised for suspected food poisoning after having the mid-day meal provided by the school, police said.

The children were admitted to a government hospital after some complained of giddiness and vomiting.

They said the condition of none of them was critical. All of them were, however, under observation in the hospital.

Though the school usually provides food for over 220 children, only 150 had it on Tuesday, they added.
