Senior BJP leader LK Advani's National Integration Y
which is scheduled to commence from Rajkot in Gujarat on April six, would traverse roughly 820 km in the state before entering Maharashtra, state unit of the party said.
"Advani's four-day yatra will cover 820 km and the concluding venue in the State would be Bhilad," Gujarat BJP unit general secretary Bharatsinh Parmar, while giving details of the nation wide yatra, told reporters.
He added that the yatra led by the former BJP chief and MP from Gandhinagar in Gujarat, would have public reception at 36 places in the state.
Advani's yatra will cover 12 districts of the state, Parmar said adding that the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha will also address four public meetings -- at Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat.
The purpose behind the twin yatras -- one to be led by party president Rajnath Singh from Puri in Orissa on the same day -- is to create public awareness about minority appeasement policies of the UPA government and the threat it posed to the nation's unity and integrity, Parmar added.
Advani would travel roughly 5,800 km in 26 days across 10 states - Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi -- before concluding it on 149th anniversary of India's First War of Independence.
