After successfully enacting OBC quota Bill, government is all set to implement the Sachar Committee findings in the Budget Session of Parliament ahead of the assembly polls in four states including Uttar Pradesh.
Government also announced that the long-delayed Women's Reservation Bill would be introduced in the Budget Session of Parliament with the inter-session period utilised for arriving at a consensus.
"The Sachar Committee report on the status of Muslims will be duly considered. There is already a committee going into it," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi told reporters when asked about the status of the Sachar committee findings.
He said after due consideration of findings of the report, it would be decided in Budget session whether it could be transformed into action either through "legislative or financial measures."
Dasmunsi said the Sachhar committee findings were not a report under Commission's of Enquiry requiring the government to give an Action Taken Report (ATR).
Though the month-long session failed to see passage of important bills except the quota bill and the Tribals Bill, the Minister sought to take credit for passage of as many as 20 Bills.
