Akshay Kumar whose latest film Chandni Chowk to China failed to leave a mark at the box-office is all set to work for free in a movie on AIDS for Priyadarshan. It is for the first time the Khiladi Kumar is working for anybody without charging a single penny.

But there is a story behind Priyadarshan's decision of making a film on this sensitive issue. Apparently the director's father never used to like his son's films but he loved his work in Kanjeevaram. That made the director so sentimental that he decided to make one film every year based on an issue that is close to his heart.

The director says that he will continue to make the kind of films that the audience expect from him but will make one film per year where he would not be governed by the diktats of the market.

The film would be a songless 1 hour 50 minute presentation.
