But there is a story behind Priyadarshan's decision of making a film on this sensitive issue. Apparently the director's father never used to like his son's films but he loved his work in Kanjeevaram. That made the director so sentimental that he decided to make one film every year based on an issue that is close to his heart.

The director says that he will continue to make the kind of films that the audience expect from him but will make one film per year where he would not be governed by the diktats of the market.

The film would be a songless 1 hour 50 minute presentation.
