Many people did not know any thing about the centre and the money they have to pay for the vaccination. The people came out of their house early in the morning with their wards and they had to move from one place to another in search of the centre. As the day passed, long queues were witnessed at every centre in the city area.

As the day passed, long queues were witnessed at every centre in the city area.
Earlier, divisional commissioner Moolchand Yadav kicked off the drive at the district hospital. He was present at the booth for more than one hour to monitor the vaccination drive. About 61 children were immunised in his presence.
District magistrate Dr Hariom launched the drive at the health post at Turkmanpur and assistant commissioner (immunisation) Jaswant Singh started the drive at Jungle Dhusarh.
Dr Yadav discussed the preparation for the vaccination with district magistrate and made an on-the-spot verification of vaccination at Barfkhana health post in the city. He appealed to the people to cooperate with health and district officials to ensure the success of the drive.
Around 12,000 children between 1 and 15 year of age were immunised in the city. While 125 teams were deployed in the city areas, 625 teams were pressed into service in rural areas. Chief medical officer Dr Mahendra Nath Yadav expressed satisfaction at the vaccination drive and said 24 centres were set up in urban areas.
A huge rush was witnessed at almost every centre. He said that around 2,32,359 children, belonging to one and 15 years of age would be immunised in Gorakhpur city.
