Bashir Badr, who is MP Urdu Academy secretary, has lodged a complaint with police regarding the allegedly defamatory posters put up at various places in the capital recently and named Manzar Bhopali as a suspect.

Badr approached the Talaiya police station on Monday evening and complained that the posters have been put up to malign his reputation.

However, no case has been registered on his complaint yet. Talaiya SHO Atiq Khan said that Badr arrived at the police station and his complaint is being looked into.

Meanwhile, Manzar Bhopali, while talking to Hindustan Times, expressed surprise at the charge. “Bashir Badr is suffering
from mental illness and his recent statements prove the same”, he said.

Manzar said that now Badr could lodge a complaint against any one in the country with the police. “In fact, he had called on me and sought my support sometime back but how could have I supported his statements like the one in which he said that he could enact the role from Adam to the later prophets and even Satan?”
