Meanwhile, suspected bandh supporters torched two trucks that were transporting rice near Senapati near New Karong on the morning of December 27.

The United Naga Council, a Manipur-based body that is demanding an ‘alternative arrangement’ for Nagas, had called for a 72-hour bandh in Naga areas since the midnight of December 26.

The bandh, which will conclude on December 29, affected vehicular movement on almost all routes.
