"We accept the verdict of the people. We won two seats but we were hoping to win more," state BJP President Ganeshi Lal said.

Asked why the party, which had six MLAs in the outgoing Assembly fared so poorly, he said, "It seems that people punished us in the fear that we might again patch up with INLD after the polls."

"It is a 100 per cent anti-establishment vote. We accept our defeat and now pledge to work harder in future," he added.
