A HIGH voltage drama was witnessed at the office of KESCo managing director (MD) late in the evening on Friday.

Two senior officials of the power company, senior general manager SN Agarwal, who had been appointed with the MD and general manager (headquarters) MP Tripathi, were gheraoed by a group of BJP leaders at Kesa House.
District president of the BJP (North) Rakesh Sonkar, MLA from Cantonment Satish Mahana, Sri Krishna Dixit with hundreds of party workers gheraoed the KESA house which houses the KESCo MD office. But MD Arun was not present in the office and instead the BJP leaders gheraoed SN Agarwal and MP Tripathi.
According to information, a meeting was going on at the BJP office at Naveen Market in the evening when power supply was snapped. The angry BJP leaders marched towards the Kesa house, one Km away from the BJP office. The Kesco officials were caught unawares and before they could realise what was happening, they were gheraoed by the BJP leaders.
When Satish Mahana insisted on talking to the MD, SN Agarwal instead of calling the MD, called up ADM city Abrar Ahmad. Ahmad tried his level best to pacify the BJP leaders but to no avail.
When ADM pointed out to Mahana that agitations and gherao would not solve the problem, Mahana retorted back saying only agitation would solve the problem.
Another demonstration was held at the Ring Road sub-station to protest against power crisis. Power supply to the entire area was snapped due to cable fault.
The Kesco officials deputed at the substation, without knowing about the turn of events at Kesco MD’s office, called up MP Tripathi and requested him to ask the district administration to send police force to the Ring Road sub-station as the mob was getting restless. Mahana said, “When cable is required then why police force is being summoned.”
