BJP workers protest against price hike

IN PROTEST against hike in petroleum prices, workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party took out a procession and burnt the effigy of PM Manmohan Singh at Court crossing. They also organised a meeting and reiterated to continue their agitation till Union government rollback the price hike. State president of the BJP teachers? cell district unit president, Harish Chand Pandey, city unit president Radheshyam Srivastav and others said the impact of hike in petroleum prices would reflect on the prices of essential commodities.

State president of the BJP teachers’ cell district unit president, Harish Chand Pandey, city unit president Radheshyam Srivastav and others said the impact of hike in petroleum prices would reflect on the prices of essential commodities.

Senior party leader Shital Pandey said the six-time hike in petroleum prices within span of two years has exposed the incapability of the government.

Continuing his offensive, Pandey said the frequent hike in fuel prices was a result of mismanagement of sensitive sector by the ministry of petroleum and ministry of finance. They said the Union government has become insensitive towards common man’s problems. They claimed that hike in petroleum prices have generated serious resentment among all the sections of society.

Party leader Raviprakash Srivastav said that the party activists would block traffic at National Highway Number 28 near Nausarh crossing on June 10.

BJP leader Umesh Madhesia, Annapurna Shukla, Chandrabhushan Jaiswal and others said that a meeting of party leaders has been convened on June 9 to discuss future course of action to intensify their agitation against hike in fuel prices.
