Blast suspect Waliullah produced in court
Case referred to sessions court for trial
THE PRIME accused in the Varanasi bomb blasts of March 7 Walliullah was produced in chief judicial magistrate PK Srivastava’s court here on Thursday in connection with the chargesheet on the Cantonment railway station blast.
After going through the chargesheet filed by the GRP, Justice Srivastava referred the case to the sessions court for trial.
The GRP filed the chargesheet in the Cantonment station blast case against the accused on Wednesday.
The city police had earlier filed a chargesheet in connection with the Sankat Mochan temple blast and recovery of a powerful pressure cooker bomb from the Dashwaswamedh market area.
Bomb blasts at the temple and the station had claimed 17 lives and injured 100 people. Later, the Special Task Force (STF) of the UP police and the Anti-Terrorist Cell nabbed Walliullah.
They found active involvement of three other youhts linked to the Bangladesh- based outfit HuJI. The accused was brought to court from the Central jail amid tight security. When Waliullah was first brought to court a few weeks ago, citizens lost their cool and attempted to beat him up.
