A powerful bomb exploded on Wednesday at Khapotsangbam area in Bishenpur district of Manipur but casualty, if any, was not immediately known, official sources said.

The bomb, allegedly planted by insurgents to attack security personnel at a roadside, went off at around 9 am, sources said.
Police forces have rushed to the spot, about 40 kms south of here, sources said adding that more than 30 bombs had been planted by suspected insurgents at various parts of the state in the past one and half month.
While some of them exploded, remaining were defused by bom experts, sources added.
