Brother-sister buried alive under debris in Jammu

A brother-sister duo were buried to death when a heap of mud fell on them while working at a construction site Belicharana area here, police said today.

A brother-sister duo were buried to death when a heap of mud fell on them while working at a construction site Belicharana area here, police said today.

The deceased labourers, identified as, Sunita Devi (33) and her teenaged brother Raj Kumar (16) were engaged in digging work yesterday when a heap of mud and stones being removed by a JCB machine fell on them, they said.

On getting the information, police rushed to the spot and pulled them out. They were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital where doctors declared them brought dead, police said.

After the post-mortem the bodies were handed over to their family, police said, adding a case has been registered and further investigations are on.
