The BSF recovered five pistols along with ten magazines, 200 cartridges and Rs eight lakh fake Indian currency at the Rajatal Border Outpost (BOP) in the Attari sector of the district, early on Thursday.

Two persons, who came from the Pakistan side of the brorder, threw two packets across the fence which contained the cache, BSF Company Commander LR Yadav said in Amritsar.
The duo across the fence ran away, while two others on this side of the border disappeared in the dark without collecting the arms and the fake currency as the BSF had opened fire after seaing them, Mr Yadav said.
The Punjab Police has been informed of the incident and a case was registered at the Sarai Amanat Khan police station.
