AFTER THE Supreme Court refusal to provide relief to the MLAs of the breakaway group, the BSP issued whip to all the 38 MLAs, on Monday.

The breakaway MLAs have been directed through the whip to sit with the other party MLAs in the House when Vidhan Sabha meets on Wednesday.

The MLAs have also been directed to follow the instructions of the BSP Legislature Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya.

In their petition, filed in the Supreme Court, Rajendra Singh Rana and other MLAs of the breakaway group sought a stay on the Allahabad High Court order and a directive to the Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey to take a decision on the disqualification of the MLAs from Vidhan Sabha.

The Supreme Court decision to hear the petitions, filed by the breakaway BSP MLAs on March 24, set in motion intense political activities in the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). At an emergency meeting, the BSP decided to issue whip to all the 38 MLAs of the breakaway group.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, Maurya said with the SC refusal to stay the High Court order, it was clear that all the MLAs of the breakaway group were now the BSP members.

Notice would be served on all the MLAs of the breakaway group informing them about the whip issued by the legislature party leader, he said. The MLAs would be directed to follow the orders of the leader, he said.

Notice mentioning the whip will be served on all the 38 MLAs individually on Tuesday. It will be pasted on the door of the residences of those MLAs who are not present. “A video film that notice had been served to all the MLAs will be prepared,” another BSP leader said. After the Supreme Court decision, there were celebrations in the BSP camp.
