While delivering his views as a chief guest in sworn in ceremony of newly elected working committee members of Gorakhpur Press Club, Pushpendra highlighted the role of journalist in small cities and said they bears more social responsibilities, phase challenges and take risk in presenting the news. While comparing the journalism in Delhi with other cities he pointed out that in Delhi different lobbies are very active and mission remains at back seat.
Pushpendra suggested the young journalist to retrained themselves in sensitive matter and even in the bomb blast journalist reports first about the role of any terrorist organisations in carrying out the blast before the start of investigation of incident by security agencies. He said this trend was very dangerous and often castes its shadow over the impartial inquiry of such incident and create confusion. He assured that Gorakhpur Journalist Press Club would be affiliated to the Press Club of India. Unit incharge of a Hindi daily Shailendra Mani Tripathi stressed the need to improve the presentation of news to bring the regional news on national hook up.
Earlier, the election officer Rajiv Ojha administered the oath to the newly elected president of Press Club Shafi Azmi, Vice-president Arun Kumar Rai, general secretary Ritesh Mishra, joint secretary Kamlesh Singh, treasurer Dhiraj Srivastav, auditor Durgesh Tripathi and other members of working committee.
Senior journalist and former president of Press Club Anand Rai conducted the programme and former president Sarvesh Dubey, senior journalist RC Gupta and others also expressed their views on this occasion.
