White has captained Victoria in 2003-04 at the age of 20, the youngest skipper in their history, he won reviews for his cool head and his handling of his contemporaries.

His entry into the first class arena saw him being compared to the more experienced Shane Warne but since then it the comparison has died.

White is a peculiarly unAustralian-style legspinner, tall and robust, relying on changes of pace and a handy wrong’un rather than prodigious turn or flight. A nagging legspinner and a solid middle-order batsman he is the newest face in Australian cricket.
