Car hits Scooty, 2 girls critically injured
Two girls were critically injured when a recklessly driven Mercedes car hit their Scooty in Sector 14 area late on Sunday night. The driver of the car, who had fled the spot, has been picked up and is being questioned.

The incident occurred when the said car hit a Scooty near the dividing road of Sector 14 and Sector 15 around 9.30pm on Sunday, due to which two school girls on the Scooty were injured. The cops on duty rushed the injured to Escorts Hospital in Faridabad for treatment.
As the driver of the car tried to speed away after the incident, the tyre of the car burst. The driver abandoned the car and fled from the spot. Police have registered a case against the driver under Sections 337/338 and 427 of IPC. The driver, identified as Shiv Dutt of Ajronda village in Faridabad, was arrested on Monday.
During the course of interrogation, Dutt disclosed that the car belonged to one Purshotam Lal Gupta of Sector 15 area in Faridabad, an iron trader in Nehru Ground.
The injured have been identified as Sanjana and Sahibaon, both students of a prestigious private education institute on Mathura Road, Faridabad. Sanjana resides in NH1 area, whereas Sahibaon lives in NH2 area here.
"The police have been informed about the conditions of the victims. Since it a case of accident, we cannot comment on it," said Anurag Kashap, PRO, Escorts Hospital, Faridabad.
"Sanjana received minor injuries and was operated in the foot, while Sahibaon who has received multiple injuries in her legs has been referred to Apollo Hospital, Delhi," SHO Central Ajit Singh said, adding, "The girls were returning from tuition when the accident took place."
