CCCL bags two more tenders for Chennai Metro Rail
The Chennai Metro Rail has awarded two more tenders valued at Rs 234.53 crore to city-based Consolidated Construction Consortium Ltd (CCCL).
The Chennai Metro Rail has awarded two more tenders valued at Rs 234.53 crore to city-based Consolidated Construction Consortium Ltd (CCCL).
There was stiff competition from 11 bidders and CCCL won it, Chennai Metro Rail Ltd said in a statement here today.
The tender for design and construction of five elevated stations at Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus Koyambedu, Arumbakkam, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar are valued at Rs 139.54
crore.
The second tender for the design and construction of five elevated stations at Little Mount, Guindy, Alandur, Officer Training Academy and SIDCO are valued at Rs 94.99 crore.
The estimated cost of the project is about Rs 14,000 crores. Of this, the Central and state Governments together are expected to contribute about 41 per cent. The balance will be met by a loan granted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The first phase of the project completion was expected to be by 2014.
