BHARATIYA JANATA Party (BJP) today said the Congress president Sonia Gandhi cannot prove herself sacrosanct by passing the buck on Union Law Minister Hansraj Bharadwaj for initiating process for de-freezing of Otavio Quattrochi’s accounts in Britain.

State BJP spokesperson Bhupendra Singh said the manner in which Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhavi has sought to isolate Bharadwaj on the issue was part of Congress culture of use and throw, where anybody can be sacrificed to hide the wrongdoing of party’s top boss.

He further said Bharadwaj could not have decided on initiating the process for de-freezing of accounts without taking the Prime Minister in confidence. Quattrochi’s accounts were frozen by the bank in London after being provided with enough evidence and Quattrochi continued to be an accused in the CBI charge-sheet. Yet, efforts to de-freeze his accounts had only exposed the intentions of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said.
