Party spokesperson Anand Sharma told reporters that the AICC would not like to remain an organisation in a weak state and would take corrective measures.

He, however, side-stepped a question whether it meant that PCC Chief Sadanand Singh, who lost the polls himself and led the party in the elections, would be replaced.

His comments came close on the heels of party chief Sonia Gandhi dubbing as "disappointing" the results in the state but maintaining that in the big challenge ahead lay "many opportunities" for strengthening the organisation.
