Congmen flay State Govt

MEMBERS OF the district Congress committee staged a dharna at the district magistrate?s office to register their protest against the anti-people policies of the state government. They handed over a memorandum to be forwarded to the Governor and demanded the dismissal of the Mulayam Singh-led government.

Presiding over the dharna, city unit president of the party Chaudhary Irshad Husain and senior party leader Brij Narain Sharma said there was no law and order in the state. Mafias and criminals had a hand in administration and the state government was squandering funds in organising Saifai Mahotsava instead of making improvement in the power scenario in the state.

Members of All India Congress Committee Lal Chand Nishad, Naresh Chaudhary and others said that the state government had failed to fulfil its constitutional duty and the recent clashes in Lucknow, Aligarh and Mau and serial bomb blast in Varanasi had exposed the incapability of the government.
