Congress to field 28 new faces for Chhatisgarh poll

The Congress party has given election tickets to 28 new candidates out of the 87 seats that the party will contest during the assembly polls in the state.

The Congress party has given election tickets to 28 new candidates out of the 87 seats that the party will contest during the assembly polls in the state.

As per the party's agreement with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Congress has left three seats for NCP namely Chandrapur, Samri and Manendragarh.

The party has given tickets to 31 sitting MLAs. Besides, it has given 31 tickets to tribal candidates as against 29 (ST) reserved seats and 10 tickets to women candidates.
