Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, he welcomed the Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s call to the party workers to get ready for the UP Assembly poll.
He ruled out the possibility of any alliance with the like-minded parties and said that the poor law and order situation in the State would be the main election issue.

Pal said that Rahul Gandhi, who had become a role model for around 54 per cent of voters below 40 years, would play an important role in the assembly election.

The people of Uttar Pradesh were waiting for the Congress’s return as development work in the State had come to grinding halt, he added.

Hitting hard at the Mulayam-led government, Pal alleged that the Samajwadi Party (SP) was protecting the communal forces.

He also quoted communal clashes that took place in various parts of the State.

Criticising the State government for diverting all the funds to some particular areas for development, Pal said that the people of the State were fade up with Samajwadi Party and they wanted to get rid of its rule.

He defended the Union Government’s decision to raise prices of petrol and diesel.
