Counting of votes in Chennai begins
Counting began for the 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu poling for which was held on April 13, with the first trend of lead going to the ruling DMK ally Congress in Kancheepuram, within half an hour of the commencement of the exercise.

Election officials expect firm results to start trickling in by around 10.30am.
